Only bad thing I can say really is that sometimes the button actuator can slip off of it's contacts on the circuit board. But even then, it's a very easy fix. It's an extremely durable unit and I've used it in the field extensively. Very good for seeing scorpions at night in 29 palms. Not to mention the more recreational uses. lol

This is a good LWUV unit, although small. Its greatest weekness is the length of the visible spectrum -- all the way into the green -- that it puts out along with LWUV. It also has a peculiar absorption band in the violet. It's very portable, though, for field gem buying trips.

I use this to detect oil leaks in aircraft engines. It's small enough to keep on my keychain and is always handy.

The UV light works exactly as expected. Don't expect to use this as a regular flashlight that provides light in dark areas. It does give off some purple light that is visible to the human eye.

It works very well and I've been using one for several years. I like the small size a lot. It's easy to carry in my pocket. My only suggestion is to make a model with a replaceable battery.
