The Leatherman Wave multi-tool is hands down Leatherman's most popular multi-tool, made famous by its outside-accessible blades that can be deployed with just one hand. When Leatherman redesigned it in 2004, they gave the new Wave larger knives, stronger pliers, longer wire cutters, and… More

Overall a nice quality product; however, only one minor comment: why do the scissors open up with the sharp edges exposed like this? There are other models with better design, why not adopt those?

Comments:

It's a fantastic tool for all purposes. I use the Wave at work, for cutting boxes open to remove a srew, sawing, everything. I haven't find out what's not great. I have the Wave one week in use, but I don't expect problems. I carry the Wave on my belt, next to my small torch.

Comments:

I am a Broadcast Technician working for a Radio and Television organisation with multiple product signals. I use my Leatherman Wave virtually every day from working on projects to odd-jobs around the place. I have known about the Leatherman products for some time from working in the Audio-Visual industry, and I am very pleased with the price I purchased it for from PhotonLight.com - which made it very cost effective for me. Having the multiple different screw-drivers and the pliers and wire-cutters on my belt make it very handy as I don't have to think about whether I need to grab a bunch of tools to take with me. I just go, and if I need to do something, snap the Wave out. Naturally for more laborious jobs I can get the special tool set that I need, but I still use the Leatherman in conjunction with them most of the time. The only drawback with the Leatherman Wave is that the clip-point knife blade is fairly basic and no doubt will blunt in not much time. I hope that PhotonLight.com might start selling the higher model Leatherman Charges as I think they have better blades, and I am considering upgrading at some stage. All-in-all, I am a very happy customer. :)
